Life as a Fellow

Two Years, $100,000, no limits.

Only one thing is required of your tenure as a Thiel Fellow: that you learn by doing. Exactly what your self-directed education will look like depends on you. What do you want to build? What do you want to research? What do you want to achieve? How high can you reach?

Your resources will begin with your new peers, themselves among the world’s most creative and driven young men and women, and extend to hands-on mentorships with many of the most influential and successful entrepreneurs and visionaries of Silicon Valley.

Will your project benefit from an internship at a renowned company or lab? We’ll help you get there.

Maybe you’ll team up with a few of the other fellows and rent a group house in Palo Alto or San Francisco, or share work space surrounded by other dedicated and creative young professionals. Maybe you’ll find that you sync so well with another Thiel Fellow that you’ll embark on some crazy new project that you never before thought possible.

From Thiel Fellowship socials and outings to guest lectures and hands-on entrepreneurial retreats, Thiel Fellows are fully immersed in the Bay Area start-up culture from day one.
